shroud Signature Edition Trade-in Program
How does it work?
When MAINGEAR upgrades a component in shroudâs personal Signature Edition desktop, weâll notify all Signature Edition customers via email. This email will detail the specific upgrade and its performance benefits. Weâll also provide an estimated trade-in credit for your current component and outline any costs associated with the upgrade. Youâll have 14 days to decide if you want to take advantage of the trade-in and proceed with the upgrade.
How do the upgrades get handled?
For more complex upgrades, like the CPU, motherboard, or power supply, youâll need to send your PC to MAINGEAR to perform the upgrade. Simpler component swaps, such as RAM and storage, can be handled by mail. MAINGEAR reserves the right to decide which upgrades necessitate sending your system in.
For mail exchanges, weâll follow our standard warranty process. We can either advance ship you the new part with a temporary hold on your credit card, or you can send the old part in first, avoiding the need for a credit card hold.
Do I have to pay for labor?
Labor is free on all single-component shroud Signature Edition upgrades.Youâre only responsible for the cost of parts, minus any trade credit. Additional upgrades may incur labor fees and shipping is not included.
How will shipping work?
As with our current system upgrade process, customers will be responsible for any shipping costs to and from our facility. MAINGEAR can assist with discounted shipping rates through our carrier, and local pickups and drop-offs are always an option. We highly recommend retaining your systems original packaging and adding shipping insurance for peace of mind.
Can I still upgrade whenever I want?
Absolutely! You can request an upgrade at any time, just like with any other MAINGEAR PC. Be advised that component trade-in credit is only available when shroudâs personal system is upgraded, and you receive an email notification.
Does the same program apply to other shroud Edition systems?
No, the trade-in program is exclusive to the shroud Signature Edition desktop, which was released on January 30, 2025.
How much trade-in credit will I receive?
Trade-in credit varies based on the specific component and market conditions. Our partners at Jawa determine the trade-in value, offering competitive and transparent pricing with no hidden fees. All credit must be used towards the specific upgrade presented at the time of trade-in and cannot be applied to other MAINGEAR products or services.
Can I skip an upgrade and do it later?
Yes, you have the flexibility to choose which upgrades you want to take advantage of. If you decide to skip some and then do multiple upgrades at once, we can accommodate that, however, trade-in credit will only be offered on the most recent upgrade, which must be within 14 days of the email notification.
Do you inspect my trade in?
Yes, all component trade-ins are inspected and tested. Any damage or unauthorized modifications may result in a denial of trade credit. In such cases, weâll notify you via email and advise you of your options. If a component fails testing due to a defect, your MAINGEAR warranty may be used to replace the part before trade-in credit can be issued.
What if my trade is damaged in shipping?
Customers are responsible for safely and securely packing their components for return. If a component is damaged in shipping, weâll work with you and the carrier to explore available options. MAINGEAR cannot assume responsibility for any damage incurred during transit. We highly recommend retaining your systems original packaging and adding shipping insurance for peace of mind, especially for higher-value components.
Does MAINGEAR provide a box to ship my PC in?
MAINGEAR does not provide shipping boxes. We highly recommend retaining your systems original packaging and foams, as this will make return shipping much easier and more secure.
When will the trade-in program end?
MAINGEAR plans to run the shroud Signature Edition trade-in program for the forseeable future, but reserves the right to end the program at its sole discretion with or without notice.
