Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

MAINGEAR wants everyone to be able to shop for, configure and buy a MAINGEAR PC on maingear.com, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We test against that standard and fix what we find on a regular schedule.

What we have done

In 2026 an independent accessibility firm audited maingear.com against WCAG 2.2 and reported 161 issues. Since then we have:

  • Raised text and button contrast across the site, including the announcement bar, blog pages and product pages
  • Added visible keyboard focus outlines to links, buttons, filters and product cards
  • Given buttons, links, images and form controls clear names for screen readers, including the cart, search, pagination and price filters
  • Fixed heading order on blog posts, policy pages and the contact page
  • Made menus, drawers and the cart work with a keyboard, with focus moving into and back out of each one
  • Added pause controls to moving content such as the announcement bar and scrolling image strips, and stopped motion for people who ask their device to reduce it
  • Announced cart changes, such as an item being added or a quantity changing

We check pages with automated tools and with keyboard testing as part of each update.

Known limitations

Some parts of the site are still being fixed, and some come from other companies' tools that we don't fully control:

  • PC configurator: some steps of the custom PC builder are not yet fully keyboard and screen reader friendly. We are working on it.
  • Checkout and customer accounts: these pages are run by Shopify. We are adjusting the settings we control, such as button colors, and reporting the rest to Shopify.
  • Live chat: our current chat tool has known accessibility gaps. We are moving to a new chat tool.
  • Email signup popups and product reviews: these come from our email and reviews provider. We are working with them on fixes.
  • Embedded videos: videos are hosted on YouTube, which controls its own player.

If any of these get in your way, contact us and we will help you complete your order another way.

Report a problem

If something on maingear.com is hard to use, tell us. Include the page address and what happened, and we'll reply within 2 business days.

We can also take your order by phone or email if any part of the site blocks you.
