The fifth generation MAINGEAR VYBE is our best-selling chassis, offering a versatile mid-tower design and wide range of customization options. Whether you’re showing off your system like a work of art, or placing it in a desk cabinet, VYBE’s steel construction, smart airflow, tempered glass side panel, and frontside I/O make it a great choice for gamers and creators alike. For those looking for that wow-factor, or added cooling performance, VYBE has been designed to work seamlessly with our APEX liquid cooling system. Apex-equipped VYBE’s feature dual high performance copper radiators, for 600mm total liquid cooling capacity.
All MAINGEAR VYBE desktops include a front panel RGB logo, internal RGB strip lighting, and control via remote or software. Dimensions come in at approximately 17.9” H x 8.7” W x 18.6” D.
One thing to remember when comparing MAINGEAR desktop models is that there’s no wrong choice! Aside from some component offerings which may differ among models, each chassis offers a unique aesthetic and form factor, allowing users to opt for the configuration and footprint that best suits their needs.
Make your PC truly stand out and customize it with an automotive paint finish. Using our state-of-the-art downdraft paint booth and true automotive paints, the same formulas used on world-class sports cars, having your PC hand painted will elevate its final aesthetic to another level.
Choose from one of our seasonal in-house colors or define your own with our custom color option. We recommend customers use a website like PaintRef.com to obtain the automotive paint code for the custom color they’re seeking. Our creative team will confirm whether that color is achievable and can help provide some comparable suggestions in the event that it’s not. While options are near endless, older automotive paint codes (1980’s and earlier), hyper/exotic cars, and proprietary paints are generally not achievable.
Chameleon paint finishes are also available by special request. Chameleon paint finishes utilize a special multi-stage paint process, which gives your PC a color changing appearance, showcasing different hues based on lighting and viewing angles. There are several chameleon finishes available, and those interested should contact our sales team for a quote, or to add this to your existing order.
All paint finishes are available with a glossy or matte clear coat. We generally recommend glossy, as it will provide better paint protection. Customers selecting MARC graphics are strongly encouraged to opt for a glossy clear coat, as it will ensure the graphics are better protected as well.

Customize your MAINGEAR with artfully applied graphics. Our MARC III process directly applies artwork to the exterior of your PC. If selecting an automotive paint finish as well, artwork will be applied above the color level and below the clear coat. Our sales team will reach out to you once your order is placed to obtain the custom artwork. All files must meet certain requirements ahead of application and customers are encouraged to review our MARC Guidelines for important information.
All artwork and/or custom theming must be fully realized and ready for application, as MAINGEAR does not provide in-house graphic design services. For customers using a commissioned graphic designer, or for those doing the design work themselves, templates are available to help make your artwork layout a breeze!
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050
Your graphics card will have the largest impact on gaming performance, including framerates and visual fidelity. Gamers should consider their budget as well as the monitor they plan to use, as it’s important to pair a monitor capable of keeping up with your graphics card to make the most out of your new PC. High framerates are best achieved on monitors with high refresh rates.
There’s more to a graphics card than its onboard video memory (VRAM). We oftentimes see customers laser focused on choosing a graphics card solely based on how much memory it has, and it’s important to note that while video memory is important, other factors play an even larger role, such as the amount of graphics processing cores and the speed of those cores. Games will require more video memory at higher resolutions. If you’re gaming at 1080p or 1440p, for example, you’d require significantly less video memory than if gaming at 4K or 8K.
Not all gameplay utilizes the graphics card equally. As graphics cards become more advanced, they may not have to work as hard to keep up with less demanding games, or games at lower resolutions. For customers gaming at 1080p (FHD), or those enjoying older titles, expect diminished returns as you move up the graphics cards product range. In these scenarios, your computer’s processor becomes a more critical factor in in-game performance. If gaming at 1440p (QHD) or 4K (UHD), expect your graphics card to play a much larger role, and performance to noticeably improve as you move up the range. It’s important to find balance when configuring your PC, and gamers should consider their budget and monitor when selecting both a CPU and GPU to ensure optimal performance and to avoid bottlenecks.
Content creators, such as designers and editors, should only consider high end graphics cards if the software you’re using makes use of GPU acceleration, or “GPU-bound” workloads. A common misconception, for example, is that video editing requires a high end GPU, when in fact most video editing software makes very little use of the graphics card, with the CPU playing a much larger role in performance and rendering. Of course, not all software is optimized the same way.
AMD RYZEN 5 5600X
Your processor will determine the speed and ability to run various applications and games. A processor’s frequency, core count, and number of threads will have a direct effect on how efficiently your PC handles tasks. It’s important to consider how you plan to use your PC when selecting the most optimal processor.
As games remain relatively lightly threaded, higher core count CPUs don’t always mean better in-game performance. Core frequency plays a much larger role. Typically, the higher the core count, the lower the core frequency, although there are some exceptions to this rule. If primarily gaming, focus on the speed of the CPU and not so much the core count. As an example, an 8-core AMD Ryzen will deliver far superior gaming performance over a 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper, despite having 1/8th of the cores.
Users focused on productivity, such as content creation, rendering, design, encoding, etc., should certainly factor core count into their CPU decision, as pro applications tend to be multi-threaded, making much better use of all the cores your CPU has to offer. Video editors and animators who rely on rendering speed to drive productivity will benefit from higher core count CPUs. Programmers who compile code regularly will also see a huge boost in performance with higher core count CPUs. If your time is money, a more capable CPU means less time spent waiting and more time being productive.
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black
Your processor requires adequate cooling to operate at its peak performance. Luckily, MAINGEAR has done most of the legwork here, only presenting you with compatible options that have been thoroughly tested to maintain or exceed industry-standard thermal performance. Choices may include air coolers, AIO’s, or our APEX liquid cooling system.
Air coolers utilize fans and heatsinks, providing long lasting performance with zero maintenance. Due to their simplistic form and function, air coolers will typically last the life of your PC, however, CPU’s with high power draw may require something a bit more substantial.
AIO’s, or “all-in-one’s” are closed-loop liquid coolers. They feature the same basic working principle as our Apex open-loop liquid cooling, but are limited to cooling the CPU only. A single radiator is mounted inside the case, and a cooling plate is mounted to your CPU. Coolant flows through this loop continuously, aided by a pump. In most cases, an AIO will provide better cooling performance than an air cooler, as liquid makes for a better heat transfer. Imagine trying to cool off in a cold shower as opposed to standing in front of a fan. AIO’s are our most popular option, and come in varying radiator sizes, based on the level of cooling performance desired.
APEX is our fully custom open-loop liquid cooling solution. Imagine the same concept as closed-loop liquid cooling, but in a modular design. Because we’re crafting these loops from scratch, we can utilize multiple radiators to provide liquid cooling for both your CPU and GPU. This solution will result in the most capable overall thermal management and quietest system operation of any of our cooling options. Aside from the cooling benefits, many customers will opt for APEX simply for the wow-factor. APEX loops feature dedicated reservoirs, higher performing radiators, custom pumps, and allow for unique customizations, such as tube type, fitting style, and coolant color. APEX will single handedly turn your gaming PC into a work of art. Note, APEX loops require occasional upkeep, such as topping off coolant levels or performing a flush. Rest assured, MAINGEAR has help guides available or can provide these services for you in-house. Maintenance needs are infrequent and shouldn’t be a concern when considering this option.
By default, all MAINGEAR desktops come equipped with the stock fans that come along with your chassis and components. Stock fans deliver the airflow needed to ensure your system runs cool, even under the most demanding workloads.
RGB lighting enthusiasts are encouraged to upgrade to our RGB fan package. In addition to replacing all fans in your build with RGB functionality, these fans offer higher performance with increased airflow and static pressure. As always, all system lighting can be controlled via software or remote or disabled entirely.

Your motherboard serves as your PC’s central communications backbone— a point through which all components and external peripherals connect. The most important thing to remember when browsing our options is that each one of these motherboards has been carefully cherry picked by MAINGEAR to offer the best overall value, features, and performance. Our configurators are also designed to only present compatible motherboards to you, so you never have to worry you’re making the wrong decision.
The key areas where motherboards differ are form factor, connectivity, features, and expandability.
Form factor. Pretty straightforward. Will it fit in your new MAINGEAR PC? If you’re seeing a motherboard as an option in this configurator, the answer is yes.
Connectivity. Consider what kind of ports you’ll need. Do you require Thunderbolt? 10G LAN? Do you need a certain number of USB ports? What about Wi-Fi and Bluetooth? Do you need an optical audio port to connect your surround sound? While most motherboards will offer ample connectivity for all, it’s important to review the specs if there’s a connection type you’re seeking specifically.
Features. Premium motherboards will oftentimes include some additional hardware and software features. Hardware features may include diagnostic LED screens to make diagnosing issues easier, a BIOS flashback button for stress-free BIOS management, and refinements such as gold-plated connectors. Software features may include a host of utilities for everything from fan control to lighting to overclocking. Typically, a more premium motherboard will include a more comprehensive software suite. With that said, all MAINGEAR PCs are fully optimized and configured prior to shipping.
Expandability. The motherboard dictates how many components can be integrated into your system. Our most basic options are generally sufficient for majority of users, but those seeking support for multiple PCIe devices (sound cards, capture cards, networking cards, additional graphics cards, etc) or a high number of NVMe SSDs, will want to be sure their choice can accommodate that. It’s important to choose the right configuration for the job at hand. Most gamers just require single-GPU, single-SSD configurations, which makes any of our desktops a viable option. An animator, however, may require multiple graphics cards, or a wealth of storage drives to hold media and backups, and with that the proper motherboard would be required.

RAM is your computer’s short-term memory, where the data that the CPU is currently using is stored. RAM is used for immediate data storage and retrieval — any task that requires quick access to computing resources. The amount of RAM a PC has will dictate how much a CPU can compute at any given moment. Heavy multi-taskers, power users, and content creators will oftentimes require more RAM to accommodate a more demanding workflow. Games, however, don’t require as much RAM to run efficiently.
There are two factors in choosing memory: capacity and speed. Memory capacity will have the largest impact on your computer's ability to perform multiple tasks at once, whereas speed will affect its ability to execute individual tasks effectively. While RAM is easily upgradeable, we recommend ordering with a sufficient amount at the time of purchase to avoid incompatibility with other kits down the road. Some kits will need to be replaced entirely, which makes purchasing additional RAM more costly to do after the fact.

Your power supply is responsible for providing clean, regulated power to all your components. The following power supplies will provide the recommended power output for your configuration and have passed MAINGEAR's strict quality assurance testing. Power supplies are rated by their maximum wattage threshold and typically run smoother and cooler when given additional headroom above the wattage requirement of the PC.
The efficiency rating of a power supply (Bronze, Gold, Platinum, etc.) represents how effective a power supply is at converting AC power from the wall to DC power to your components. The higher the efficiency rating, the more precise that power draw and delivery, which can sometimes result in lower electricity bills and better power supply longevity. MAINGEAR has ensured that all the power supplies we offer possess an 80 Plus Bronze rating or better. To make the selection process even easier, our configurators will only present you with compatible options based on the components you’ve selected, so you never have to worry about selecting an insufficient power supply.
Default Power Supply Cables
Whether you’re looking for a cleaner aesthetic, or a specific accent color for your new MAINGEAR PC, braided cable kits replace your power supplies stock cable set with a kit of individually sleeved braided cables. While stock cables are perfectly fine, braided cables provide a more premium touch to elevate your build to the next level, and we’ll wire your individually sleeved cables through custom made cable combs to ensure expert craftsmanship and a seamless, clean aesthetic. All unneeded cables leftover from your custom PC’s assembly will be provided to you along with your system.
Microsoft Windows 11 Home
All MAINGEAR PC’s come with a bloat-free OEM version of Windows. While Home and Pro options are available, Windows Home is generally sufficient for most users. Windows Pro includes features largely geared towards enterprise users, such as disk encryption, update deferrals, and remote system management tools.
Unless otherwise specified, we’ll install Windows on the primary M.2 NVMe SSD in your system. MAINGEAR also provides customers with a free Windows Recovery USB flash drive. This USB drive may come in handy should you find yourself needing to troubleshoot or reset your PC back to its factory configuration.
512GB Solidigm P41 Plus Series
M.2 NVME SSDs represent the latest and greatest in solid state storage. Unlike traditional 2.5” SSDs and 3.5” HDDs, which are bottlenecked by rather slow SATA connections, NVMe SSDs communicate with your systems motherboard through high speed PCI-Express lanes, same as your graphics card. Think of a traditional SATA HDD or SSD as traffic headed down a two-lane highway, and an NVMe SSD as that same traffic on a twelve-lane highway, allowing for significantly faster throughput and data flow.
The result of using NVMe SSDs can be felt everywhere, from boot up times, game loading, file browsing, and even downloading and rendering. Whenever and wherever data needs to be read or written, an NVMe SSD will get it done faster.
By default, we’ll install Windows onto the primary M.2 NVMe SSD in your build (slot 1). Most modern mothebroards can accommodate between 2-5 M.2 NVMe SSDs. We recommend populating all available M.2 NVMe SSD slots before considering other drive types, however, because NVMe SSDs are currently limited in capacity, customers seeking ultra-high-capacity storage solutions may want to consider traditional SSDs or HDDs, or a combination of both.
SSDs, or 2.5” SATA SSDs to be specific, make for a tried and true, speedy storage solution. Customers should consider traditional SSDs if their builds M.2 NVMe SSD slots are limited or already populated, or if a significant amount of storage is needed, as these drive types tend to support higher capacities. The technology inside these drives is essentially the same as an M.2 NVMe SSD, but it’s the connection type that differs, with SSDs using SATA cables and M.2 NVMe SSDs using the much faster PCI-Express interface.
Despite their slower read/write speeds, hard disk drives still serve a purpose. Customers seeking high-capacity storage solutions, or supplementary storage for less frequently accessed data, such as back-ups, archiving, media libraries, scratch disk designation, etc., may find value in a traditional hard disk drive.
HDD’s offer the lowest cost per gigabyte and are available in capacities up to 16TB!
All MAINGEAR systems include a 1-year limited hardware warranty (unless otherwise noted). Support and repair labor are included free of charge for the life of the build. Consider an extended warranty if you’d like MAINGEAR to remain your point of contact in the event of a hardware issue beyond the first year.
